Blood And Wax
This project was a series of recordings culled from drum and bass jams between Andrew and me. We explored themes until a few parts developed and then turned on the tape. The guitar parts were all overdubbed direct to computer in post production. The focus of the mix is the drum and bass parts. There was also some editing :)
Bass Shielding
I recently shielded a Reissue 51 Precision Bass Guitar with some sheet metal and electrical tape. Next time I will use some adhesive copper tape designed for that purpose. Here's a photoset (with guestpass)…

Messing Around with Dokuwiki
So far we have installed the latest dokuwiki, and added the blog plugin. Our plan for this site is to enable a public and protected blog with discussions. We have changed the default template to one that uses a sidebar for better navigation. This template needs to be customized and we need to do a whole bunch of stuff to make this thing look more like “HinterSphere” (whatever that may be).
The goal with all of this public and protected stuff is to enable protected stuff to be accessible to people we know - family and friends. Here's the kind of stuff we have in mind…
- Providing family updates
- Publishing various music projects
- Keeping in touch with our family, colleagues and friends
Song For Andreas
Last night I was fiddling with my guitar and out came this riff that made me think of my good friend Andreas. Coincidentally I needed an excuse to try to make some recordings with GarageBand. This is my first foray into GarageBand.

Also in terms of alternate humbucker wiring, the left channel is “outer coils in series” (Twang), while the right channel is “series neck (standard wiring), reverse phase, in series with the bridge pickup wired in parallel” (Super Phase).
