Blood And Wax
This project was a series of recordings culled from drum and bass jams between Andrew and me. We explored themes until a few parts developed and then turned on the tape. The guitar parts were all overdubbed direct to computer in post production. The focus of the mix is the drum and bass parts. There was also some editing :)

Ok, Where’s the link?
...working on it... i realized i didn’t have the latest mp3s uploaded
ok - links have been uploaded - these are the final mixes.
I see them.
There are 2 “spring step” entries and the x-mas 06 is “not found”
Saved and burned, sounds good.
thanks - that’s what i get for doing this stuff late at night when I should really be asleep. I removed the extra entry and fixed the link to xmas06b.mp3. when are you’all going to post something?
When we figure out how to post. Soon.
Wow, just listened to First Funk.... loved Charlie’s contributions!
Btw, here’s a little bass work from a couple of pretty good players.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uC2aur6ezk

Holy chicken pickin batman at about 3:39. I have been studying up on my nashville hot licks with this dvd from the library - so that was pretty funny. Nice melodic bass stuff.
Charlie’s vocalizations were not sampled - I just put the mic in front of him with the music coming out of the monitors. I adjusted the volume and compressed it but that is about it - no sliding around stuff to fit the rhythms (which I did have to do with some of the guitar overdubs). It’s pretty hard to nail the rhythms with no click track.
Did you check out Pits and Petchouli? That ended up being sort of a grateful dead tribute in my head.
